Woodards Foundation

About Us

“If you think you are too small to make a difference try sleeping with a mosquito”

  Dalai Lama

The Woodards Charitable Foundation has a clear commitment to support those experiencing homelessness, and help find them a safe place to call home.

Working in collaborative, creative and innovative ways, our Foundation thinks, involves and connects with our community

A portion of the fees from every property leased or sold through Woodards is donated to the Foundation.  This is supplemented by fundraising activities and donations.

We will keep buzzing along in our efforts to change lives. Every donation, every cent, no matter how small, assists and supports our efforts.

What We Do

Innovative social housing projects, creative partnerships and meaningful connections through volunteering.

CEO Sleepout

Sleeping rough to raise money for homelessness

CEO Sleepout

Since 2017, John Piccolo and the Woodards directors and staff have been participants in the Vinnies CEO Sleepout, raising over $800,000 for Vinnies. This event sees team members sleep rough for the night to raise awareness of homelessness and money for Vinnies homeless services.

Vinnies Partnership

The Woodards/Vinnies partnership

Vinnies Partnership

Woodards has been a sponsor of the St Vincent de Paul Society since 2017 and in that time has provided the funds for Vinnies to purchase nine soup vans.

Safe Places

An innovative social housing model

Safe Places

Safe places is a new model of private, government and charity partnership which develops “pop up” homeless shelters. It is the first public/private partnership of its kind in Victoria.

Volunteering

Giving time to those in need

Volunteering

Woodards staff regularly volunteer on the Vinnies soup vans, making and serving food. Staff have also participated in programs with OzHarvest and FareShare cooking food for homeless charities.

Vinnies Soup Vans

Human connection is soup for the soul

Vinnies Soup Vans

The value of the Vinnies soup vans cannot be understated. More than just feeding people, this vital program fosters connection between those in need with an incredible team of regular volunteers. We are proud to have been able to facilitate the purchase of nine vans, which means this critical service can operate throughout Melbourne, every day of the year.
